How it works

Most companies already monitor news, websites, markets, and social media. That information is useful, but it is also widely available and often reaches everyone at roughly the same time. Able Gecko is built around a different idea: small changes in travel, infrastructure, access, and public activity may reveal instability before it becomes obvious in the news. None of these signals proves that a crisis is developing on its own. The value comes from comparing several of them at the same time and measuring how far they have moved from normal conditions.

Able Gecko collects data from less commonly used sources, compares current conditions with recent and historical baselines, and weighs the results based on relevance, reliability, and coverage. It also checks for routine explanations such as holidays, weather, elections, strikes, and scheduled closures.

Able Gecko can collect and process information such as:

• Road and border crossing anomalies: Unusual travel times, congestion near airports, border crossings, ports, and major exit routes to track people fleeing the country.
• Flight activity and fares: Changes in departures, available seats, ticket prices, and demand for outbound flights, along with monitoring private jet traffic and the respective owners.
• Internet access: Network disruptions, changes in connectivity, and differences between government and public-facing internet access.
• Airspace restrictions: NOTAMs, airport restrictions, closures, and other changes that may affect movement.
• Satellite and supporting data: Using changes in light pollution observed through satellite data, Able Gecko can identify blackouts and potential damage to energy infrastructure. The model also gathers supporting context about the area of interest from public reporting, social media, and market conditions.

The result is a country or regional assessment that explains what changed, which signals contributed most, how unusual those changes are, and what could provide an ordinary explanation. This can help investors, insurers, logistics companies, infrastructure operators, security teams, and other organizations that need a clearer view of political, economic, or operating risk before making a decision.
